An exhibit of designer dresses belonging to the late Princess Diana is scheduled to go on display at Kensington Palace next year. The collection is timed to coincide with the completion of $18 million renovation of the Royal residence. Included in the exhibition will be five gowns, three of which are being displayed in the United Kingdom for the first time.
The collection includes: a black evening dress designed by Bellville Sassoon; a purple silk chiffon sari-style dress designed by Catherine Walker that Diana wore in Thailand during a Royal Tour in the winter of 1988; a black Versace dress; and an ivory silk crepe dinner dress featured in the Princess’ 1997 Vanity Fair photo spread. The dress, bought at an auction by Elizabeth and David Emmanuel in 2010 for $301,000, has never been exhibited in the UK before. The exhibit will also include a floor-length, black taffeta gown that the Princess of Wales wore in 1981 at her first official engagement, which took place at the Royal Opera House. The black gown was a fashion turning point for Diana because it established her as a royal fashionista.
The exhibit, which is called Diana, will be displayed in a set created by interior designer Finola Inger. It is scheduled to open on March 26, 2012.
Curator Deirdre Murphy says the particular dresses included in the show were selected “to illustrate to visitors Diana’s evolving style and the important role fashion played in creating her public image. As the princess’s former home, Kensington Place is an ideal setting to showcase these gowns; the atmosphere of the display will be truly magical.”

Everyone knows that flowers are a nice gift to send your girlfriend/significant other. Flowers are not reserved only for holidays or wedding anniversaries either. Flowers can be sent on many other occasions as well. Here are a few occasions when to get flowers:
1: Besides birthdays, wedding anniversaries or Valentine’s Day, flowers can be a very nice gesture to celebrate a promotion at work, or a small anniversary such as marking the first time you went out to dinner or the first time she called you “snookums”.
2: As a token of affection. Sometimes you don’t need a holiday or occasion to send flowers. Maybe you just wanted to show your partner that you care and that she is remembered and valued by you. It is a real nice way to say “I love you” and it makes that ‘regular’ day a little more special.
3: After an argument. It is a good way to get out of the ‘proverbial doghouse’ by giving your girlfriend/spouse flowers. The gesture may not guarantee forgiveness, but it will help ease the transition back into her good graces.
4: At work. Show your significant other and her co workers that she is valued and cared for. Have some flowers delivered to her at work but don’t send something too grand because the flowers might just get in the way and prevent work from going smoothly.
5: She wants them. The best time and the best reason to get your girlfriend or significant other flowers is if she wants them. Say the two of you are out shopping or just out for a walk and pass by a florist or someplace that sells flowers. She will either tell you she wants flowers or hint by saying “oh those are pretty”. That is when you buy them. Visit Aryan Florist and find the right flowers for your girl.
